What pricing disclosures does my dealer website need?
The FTC Vehicle Shopping Rule requires clear and conspicuous disclosure of all fees. Your website cannot advertise a price that does not include all mandatory fees (documentation fees, dealer prep, etc.) that the buyer will have to pay.
Can I advertise financing rates on my dealer website?
Yes, but Regulation Z (TILA) requires that if you advertise specific credit terms like interest rate, you must also disclose the APR, down payment, and repayment terms. "Rates as low as" requires additional disclosure.
What are the rules for advertising used cars online?
The FTC Used Car Rule requires specific disclosures about warranty coverage. The Buyers Guide information must be made available. Additionally, as-is sales must be clearly communicated, and mileage must be accurately represented.
